Ross Martin Gets the Edge in Day 5 of Camp

Well if our offense continues to sputter like they did yesterday, Ross Martin can at least nail some field goals for us. The Duke kicker was brought back this year to compete with free agent signing Chandler Catanzaro, after cutting Nick Folk this winter the Jets are now find themselves in search for his replacement. Catanzaro struggled mightily last year missing 7 field goals with some of those being extra points, which is concerning. Martin who was with the Jets in training camp last year, came as an UDFA out of Duke after setting school records in almost every category. The difference between last year and this year for Martin is he isn’t just a “camp body”, you can make a legit argument for him making the team out of camp this year. After going 6-6 yesterday and nailing a 55 harder with authority Martin put himself ahead of Cat and will need to keep this momentum going forward.
