According to Manish Mehta of NY Daily News, Jets safety Marcus Maye will miss 3-4 weeks with a broken thumb he suffered yesterday against the Colts. The Jets do have decent safety depth so it could be definitely worse. It seems as if this is going to be one of those seasons for Maye who deals with injuries throughout the year, as he already missed the first 3 games – returning week 4 against the Jaguars.
Maye is a physical safety who pairs so nicely with safety Jamal Adams, so his presence will be missed for the next few weeks. The style of play Maye brings to the field will put him in positions to get hurt every so often. I would have loved to see our entire secondary back healthy this week against the Vikings but that wont happen, now we need to pray Trumaine Johnson and Buster Skrine will be eligible to return this week. If they cant, it should be a long day for this Jets secondary against Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen.
