According to Adam Schefter the Jets are working out WR Rishard Matthews who was just recently released by the Tennessee Titans. This move comes one day after learning WR Quincy Enunwa will be sidelined for a few weeks with a high ankle sprain. Matthews would join a receivers room that already includes Robby Anderson, Jermaine Kearse and Terrelle Pryor.
This would be a good move for the Jets, the next best receivers after the three I mentioned above are Charon Peake and Andre Roberts, both of whom are only really on this team for special teams purposes. Bringing in Matthews will give this offense another receiving threat for quarterback Sam Darnold to go to. I do expect Jeremy Bates to implement the tight end even more into his games plans for the next few weeks until Quincy Enunwa returns. Im on board with bringing in Rishard Matthews, adding some more depth to the unit for the time being.
