According to Adam Schefter the Jets are planning to releasing WR Terrelle Pryor, while potentially interested in bringing him back down the road. Pryor has been dealing with a groin injury and it turns out it is indeed a tear. Releasing a guy with an injury like that doesn’t bother me at all. Pryor is injury prone and had a mouth on him that I didn’t care for.
This does leave the Jets extremely thin at wide receiver, especially for this weeks matchup against the Vikings. I fully anticipate Deontay Burnett to be promoted to the 53 man roster from the practice squad and even active for the game. I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of the Jets signing or trading for a receiver that can come in next week to prep for next Sunday’s game. This entire wide receiver situation is intriguing and something to keep an eye on.
