According to NY Daily News Jets reporter Manish Mehta, safety Doug Middleton has torn his pectoral muscle and will be out for the year again. He does not state if this is the same pectoral muscle Middleton tore last year that kept him out for the season. Either way its a blow for Middleton and another body down for this Jets secondary, injuries clearly are starting to mount. Mehta also states safety Rontez Miles will be added to the roster once he is activated off the PUP list. The Jets have two safeties on their practice squad in Jeremy Clark and Brandon Bryant, I fully anticipate one of these guys to be activated to the 53 man roster. Another option would be bringing safety JJ Wilcox back who made the team out of training camp but was released a few weeks ago. Hopefully we can get Marcus Maye back sooner then we think, but we’ll see.
