According to Adam Schefter, the Jets are signing WR Rishard Matthews – who was at the Jets facilities last week for a workout. The terms of his deal aren’t known yet but I’d have to imagine this a one year deal. This move needed to happen considering the shape the Jets receiving core is in, Quincy Enunwa will be out another week or two with his high ankle sprain and we released Terrelle Pryor last weekend. Matthews will come in and immediately be a part of this offense, as he should be – once Q returns I still believe Matthews should be involved in some type of role moving forward. It is important to keep the talent around Sam Darnold the best it could be for the remainder of this season, then we can go shopping for different play makers to plug in to round out this unit. All in all I am happy the Jets made this move and brought Matthews in.
